Byron L Totten

Byron L. Totten, 81, of Roseville passed away at 7:11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Elms of Macomb, IL. He was born June 26, 1941 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Dale and Minnie (Keeney) Totten.

Byron was raised and educated in Roseville, Illinois. Throughout his life he worked many jobs in carpentry and construction. He enjoyed camping, fishing, going to yard sales and flea markets, and tinkering around in his workshop.

Byron married Melissa Heath on October 29, 1961, in her parents’ home in Keithsburg, Illinois.

He is survived by his children Lori (Brett) Burdette of Coopertown, Tennessee, and Jeff (Pauline) Totten of Plymouth, Illinois; three sisters: Doris Cowell of St. Petersburg, IL; Ellen (Tom) Ronk of Galesburg, IL; and Debbie (Mike) Blake of Gladstone, IL.; one brother Norman (Sheila) Totten of Dickson, TN; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. 

Byron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Melissa, and one brother.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family interment of Byron’s cremated remains will be scheduled for a later date. Memorials may be made to the family and left in the care of the funeral home. Wise Family Funeral Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
