William Verne Ross (95) of Naples, Florida, formerly of Good Hope and Macomb passed away December 8that Hospice in Naples.
He was born December 29, 1924 in Warren County to Carl and Zella Graves Ross. He married Mary Eloise Brinkley on Sept 29, 1946 at the Good Hope Methodist Church with Rev. O.H. Meyer presiding.
They resided in Macomb Township where they farmed for over 40 years. Later moving to Macomb. They spent many winters in Florida and later moved to the Ft. Myers then Naples area.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, JoAnne (Dean) Meyer, Janice (John) Coffey, three granddaughters, Amanda (Kyle) Ruden, Jennifer Coffey, Vicky (Billy) Idoni and two great grandchildren, William John Idoni and Madelyn Grace Idoni, a brother Dean and sister Vera (Donald) Chipman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Robert Ross, and son-in-law Dan Parke.
Verne was a member of the Macomb Methodist Church, the Masonic lodge and the O.E.S., having been a Worshipful Master and Worthy Patron while residing in Good Hope.
He enjoyed traveling and wood-working having made much fine furniture.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He and Eloise had celebrated 74 years of marriage.
