Thomas H. Rhinehart, 67, of Longmont, Colorado, formerly of Kirkwood, died September 19, 2014 at his home. He was born August 20, 1947, the son of Robert and Arlene (Grimm) Rhinehart. He was raised and educated in Kirkwood and graduated from Yorkwood High School in 1965. Tom served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Tom most recently worked at IBM in Boulder, Colorado. He was an avid baseball and football fan, following the professional games of both on television. He was a talented baseball player in the city league teams in both Monmouth and Colorado. Tom enjoyed listening to his large collection of classic rock music. Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Bill (Carolyn) Rhinehart of Palos Hill, IL, his sisters, Nancy (Jack) Reitsma of Lakewood, CA and Mary (Chris) Woodka of Pueblo, CO along with his nieces and nephews, Laura (Andy) Arcilise of Arvada, CO, Courtney Woodka of Pueblo, CO, Kristin Rhinehart of Palos Hills, IL, Andrew (Christi) Reitsma of Altadena, CA and Brendan (Paula) Reitsma of Grande Arroyo, CA along with several great nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, cremation arrangements were made. Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth will make preparations of interment in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood next to his parent' graves. Date and time will be announced by Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth. Memorials may be left for the American Cancer Society or the Kirkwood Westminster Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be left at hooverhall.com. Graveside Service: Graveside committal services with military honors are planned for 3:00 P.M. Saturday , October 25, 2014 in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood.
