Shirley J. Lock

Shirley J. Lock, 93, of Avon, IL passed away Sunday July 9, 2017 at the Rosewood Care Center Galesburg, IL. She was born Wednesday March 12, 1924 in Carrolton, MO. the daughter of William J. and Phyllis (Poiset) Bloomer. She married Kenneth A. Lock on April 16, 1944 in Maquon, IL; he preceded her in death on February 8, 2016.

Those left to cherish her memory are four children Joyce (Merle) Van Dyke of Springfield, MO, Laura (Dave) Freburg of Normal, IL, Kent (Carol) Lock of Avon, IL and Amy (Doug) Butler of Lincoln, IL; 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son (Randy A. Lock), 2 brothers (Marvin and Wayne Bloomer).

Shirley had a servant's heart of the highest calling, ever faithful in prayer and Bible reading. Her Lord, family and home were always a priority. She took delight in daily pleasures. She was well loved because she loved well and deeply and will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be Wednesday July 12, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the Checkrow Community Church Avon, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday July 12, 2017 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Checkrow Community Church Avon, IL. Burial will be in the Avon Cemetery, Avon, IL.
