Sandra Sue Ray (Shaver), 77, of Ozark, MO, formerly of Greenbush, IL, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the late morning hours on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Cox Hospital in Springfield, MO. Sandy was born on March 31, 1948 in Galesburg, IL, daughter of the late John and Pauline Shaver. She was a graduate of Avon High School and received her degree in Missions Studies from Lincoln Christian University.

After completing school she lived in Yakima, Washington where she pursued her passion by working with the people in the Yakama Nation. After returning home she met the love of her life, David (surviving) while working together at OMC, and they were married June 30, 1974. They resided in Galesburg for 35 years while raising their 2 daughters (surviving), Christa and Rebecca. A talented artist, Sandy taught oil painting classes out of her home to students of all ages.

Besides spending quality time with family and friends, she had a passion for singing in the church choir, attending bible studies, traveling, cooking, and gardening. She and David then lived out their dreams by moving to the Ozarks in Missouri where she helped raise her grandchildren. Sandy was kind, compassionate, and selfless to everyone. She had a true gift for making life feel special; especially on birthdays and holidays. She was loved by many and touched the lives of several she met through her unwavering faith in Jesus.
