Ruth E. Roll

Ruth E. Roll, 74, of Monmouth, IL passed away Wednesday February 21, 2018, 2:59 p.m. at her home.  She was born Friday November 19, 1943 in Burlington, IA the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Waggoner) Gregg.  She married Richard A. Roll on April 20, 1986 in Burlington, IA.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband Richard of Monmouth, IL; children Velvajean Trapp, James Merritt, Ginger Andrews, and Jason Roll; siblings Carol Jean, Bobbie, Pat, Karol Joyce, and Steve; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and 1 daughter (Robyn Fiedler)

Ruth was born and raised in Burlington, IA.  She trained horses (colts) and also trained dogs.  She enjoyed gardening and collecting unusual plants.  She also enjoyed kayaking and roller skating.  She loved art, wildlife and horticulture.  She also played chess and helped with chess clubs for the elementary schools.  She was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Oquawka, IL.

Funeral service will be Friday March 2, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Bible Church Oquawka, IL where Mark Baker will officiate.  Visitation will be held Thursday March 1, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Faith Bible Church Oquawka, IL.  Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery Oquawka, IL                         Memorials may be made to the FOCC in Stronghurst, IL.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
