Rev. Eddie C. Wislander

Reverend Eddie C. Wislander, age 84, of Peoria, died on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 5:26 PM in the Hawthorne Manor in Peoria, IL.

Ed was born on Monday, November 18, 1935 in Osco, IL, a son of Luther and Edith (Standberg) Wislander.

Ed married Lela A. Hampton and she preceded him death on November 7, 2010.

He survived by three sons, Greg Wislander, Ken Wislander, and Larry Schwartz; three daughters, Debbi Iaun, Brenda Wager, and Lesa McLaughlin, twenty grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Wisland; and a sister Sonja Sterling.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Ed was called to help people find Jesus filled with fire and brimstone.  He became a Baptist pastor for 44 years.  He served his Lord and Savior for the last 20 years at the Avon First Baptist Church in Avon, IL.  He was a great father and teacher.  He had the biggest heart and would give you the shirt off his back.  He was a wonderful husband.

A Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in the Wise Family funeral Home in Avon, IL from 2:00 until 4:00PM.  Memorials may be made to the Eddie C. Wislander Memorial Fund.
