Paul Conrad Taylor, 90, Roseville, Ill., died Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Conrad was born Monday, August 12, 1929 to Paul and Helen (Wheeler) Taylor of rural Roseville.
After graduating from high school, he worked on the third-generation family farm east of Roseville until joining the Army, where he served in some of the most renown battles of the Korean War. Conrad earned the rank of corporal and was decorated with a Korean War Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, a United Nations Service Medal, and a Merit Unit Citation Bronze Star Medal. On Feb. 21,1953, Conrad married Liberta Long of Salem, Iowa. For more than 40 years the couple resided at 948 State Highway 116, just east of Roseville. Conrad farmed and operated a trucking business; Liberta pursued a nursing career.
Surviving are his wife Liberta of the home; son Tim Taylor of Roseville, IL, and daughter Teresa (Kennedy) of Mt. Pleasant, IA; grandsons Jason Taylor, Paul Marr, and James Marr; and five great-grandchildren.
Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Taylor, and sister Joanne (Hoffman).
A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Roseville Township Cemetery. Jim and Sharon Hannah will officiate.
