Onnalee Jane (Mitchell) Stevens

Onnalee Jane Stevens of Avon, IL went to heaven on Saturday March 23, 2024. She was born June 14, 1928 to Glen and Eva Mitchell of Avon, IL. She was the eldest of 2 daughters. She was preceded in death by her late husband Ed Stevens.

Jane attended Secretarial School after High School. She lived a portion of her life in the Granite City, IL area where she worked for IML Freight, Inc.

In her younger years, Jane enjoyed traveling, golfing, sailing and gardening. She loved dogs and raised and showed many Cairn Terriers. She was very social in her surrounding community belonging to “Ladies of the Lake” and was an active member of the Avon Federated Church.

She is survived by her three nieces, Julie (Dan) Yuhas, Elizabeth Rhodes, Michelle (Mike) Howells, four grand-nieces: Jessica (Moises) Martinez, Jordan Ott, Anna Rhodes and Sophie Rhodes and one grand-nephew Zachary (Jessica) Ott, one great-grand niece Finley Ott, stepchildren Allison Johnson and Mike Stevens both reside on the West Coast.
