Nellie M. Nall, 94, of Alexis, died 5:00 A.M. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. She was born May 3, 1919 at Breckinridge County, Kentucky, the daughter of Kirby and Ollie (Hawkins) Dowell. She was raised and educated in Alexis and attended Alexis High School. Nellie married Lawrence Nall on March 30, 1940 at Ft. Madison, Iowa and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1987. She worked for DeKalb in Monmouth and later at Penny's Country Kitchen in Alexis, and was a caregiver for many elderly people in the Alexis community. She was a member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church. Her family includes one son, Jack Nall of Alexis, granddaughter Terri (Clint) Olin of Galesburg, grandsons, Jon Nall of Galesburg and Troy (Donna) Schaumleffel of Plainfield, Illinois and 8 great grandchildren. . She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Karen Schaumleffel, two grandsons, Brian Nall and Craig Schaumleffel, and one brother Hubert Dowell. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside committal of ashes will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Alexis Cemetery with Rev. Suzanne Geer of the North Henderson United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left for the Alexis-North Henderson Ambulance Fund. Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis is in charge of arrangements.
