Nancy A Grieve

Nancy A Grieve, 94, of St. Augustine, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She was born December 13, 1930, in Mason County, Illinois, the daughter of Elvin and Ellen Knuppel She was raised and educated in Easton Illinois, graduating from Easton High School. She attended Bradley University and graduated with a home economics degree.

She married Roy Grieve in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1984.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Stuart (Judy Cunningham) Grieve, Mark Grieve, Kathryn (Mike) McCurdy, Jeff (Terri) Grieve; grandchildren, Lauren, Scott, Rachel and Grace and great-grandson, Theo. Also, her sister, Martha Bragg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Don Knuppel.

Nancy taught kindergarten at Avon Elementary for 25 years where she touched approximately 750 lives. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, quilting, genealogy and ceramics.

A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the funeral home. A private family funeral service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to the Abingdon Fire Department or the Monarch Butterfly Fund and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
