Mildred Farrar Bond

Mildred Farrar Bond, 99, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the Roseville Rehab and Healthcare Center, Roseville, IL. She was born on Sunday November 14, 1915 the daughter of Grover and Bessie (Aten) Farrar. In 1936 she married the love of her life, Max Bond and they had one daughter Martha (Bond) Taylor.


She is survived by two grandchildren, Mike (Lori) Taylor of Roseville, IL, and Kathy (Steve) Weston of Hamilton, MT; 4 great grandchildren, Chrissy (Jeremy) Russell of Sciota, IL, Tanya Blakeman of Colorado Springs, Co, Ryan Turley and Matthew Turley both of Hamilton, MT; Mildred was also very proud to share that she was a great great grandma to Colton, Sophie, Kaden, and Weston Russell and Roy and Marley Blakeman. She was preceded in death by her husband Max, her daughter Martha, her five brothers and one sister.

She graduated from Macomb High School in 1934. Together Mildred and Max lived on a farm outside of Roseville, IL where they raised sheep for many years as well as farming several acers of crop ground. Mildred was a very hard working farm wife and spent most of her time outdoors on the farm. she also worked at the De Mass Grocery Store in Youngstown, IL, as well as the local Library. She also sat on the Roseville Schools election board for many years. She was a member of the Youngstown Christian Church until it was removed and then became a member of the Roseville Christian Church. In July of 1999 Mildred moved to the Everly House in Macomb, IL. It was there that she made many new friends and enjoyed years of playing cards and bingo. She also enjoyed the short trips they took, celebrating at the holiday parties and cookouts.

Mildred's funeral service will be on Monday June 1, 2015, 11:00 am at the Roseville Christian Church, where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery with a lunch following for those who would like to stay and share with the family at the church. Memorials may be made to the Everly House Retirement Home in Macomb, IL. Online condolences may be left at www.wisefamily-hooverhall.com. Wise Family-Hoover Hall Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
