Maxine Stoutt

Datha Maxine Stoutt, 92, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 4:05 a.m, Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Monmouth Nursing Home.

Maxine was born on May 26, 1925, in rural Oxly, MO, the daughter of Dewey & Gertrude (Colburn) Kick.  She attended schools in Missouri.  On January 2, 1943, she married Delois A. Stoutt in Corning, AR. After their marriage, she lived in Blackstone, VA and Frederick, MD while her husband served in the U.S. Army.  After his discharge from the military, they moved to Illinois.  He preceded her in death on August 15, 2001.  The couple made their home on a farm near Little York, Illinois.

Maxine worked at Monmouth Pottery, Yorkwood School District as a cook, and at Western Illinois Home Health Care as a certified nurse’s aide.  She retired from Western Illinois Home Health Care in 1990. After her retirement, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Maxine was a member of Little Cedar Church and served as a session member. She also was a member of Mothers of Twins Club where she had served as President and volunteered at Jamieson Community Center.

Surviving are her four children, Duwayne Stoutt of St. Petersburg, FL, Greg Stoutt, East Moline, IL; Mike (Lynda) Stoutt, Little York, IL; Melinda (Brian) Clark, Kirkwood, IL; her  grandchildren; Brad (Ashley) Stoutt; David (Megan) Stoutt; Miranda (Ross) Gullberg; Jared Clark; and great grandchildren; Noah Stoutt; Sky Stoutt; Kyhlee Stoutt; Isaac Stoutt, Iris Stoutt, Ryker Stoutt and Liam Gullberg.  Also surviving are her brother and sister-in-laws, Cecil Miller, Dan Krotz, Alice (Art Hilliard) and Georgia Kick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, Leo Kick, Kenneth Kick, and Fred Kick; and three sisters, Ruby Miller, Betty Sanderson, and Martha Krotz.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2017, at Wise Family – Hoover Hall Funeral Home, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to Little Cedar Church or Jamieson Community Center.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family – Hoover Hall Funeral Home Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
