Mary Vivian Vanwinkle, 92, of Alexis died at 2:44 A.M. Monday, April 9, 2012 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.

She was born October 5, 1919 in Pocahontas, Arkansas the daughter of Click and Ora (James ) Campbell. Mary was raised and educated in Surrige, Arkansas.

Mary married Thomas M. Vanwinkle in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on June 15, 1943 and he died July 3, 1985.

Mary worked as a potter at Western Stoneware in Monmouth for 19 years. She was a loving and wonderful mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and was a fabulous cook.

She was a member of the Village Baptist Church in Alexis.

Surviving are her son, Thomas (Jane) Vanwinkle, Jr. of Alexis; two daughters, Mary (Wayne) Brunswig of Monmouth and Suzanne Crummy of Muscatine, IA; 5 grandchildren; 10 Great grandchildren one brothers, John (Daphine) Campbell of Rockford, IL; one sister Lela (Herb) Mahoney of Porta Gorda, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins in Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis with Rev. Terry Johnston of the Village Baptist Church, Alexis officiating. Burial will be in the Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to The Village Baptist Church or Garden Court at Seminary Manor. Online condolences may be left at www.hooverhall.com.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis. Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis.
