Lee Anne McDowell, 66, of North Henderson, passed away at 3:33 P.M. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at OSF St. Mary's Hospital, Galesburg.
She was born August 28, 1946 in Galesburg the daughter of Robert and Alice Babbit Regian.
She was raised and educated in Alexis and graduated from Alexis High School in 1964.
Lee Anne married Garfield "Gary" McDowell in North Henderson, Illinois on December 26, 1964 and he survives.
She was a homemaker and also had worked at Admirals. Lee Anne enjoyed gardening, decorating, arranging flowers, crafts, and most of all her grandchildren.
She was a member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church.
Her family included her husband Gary; two sons, Scott (Lori) McDowell of Woodhull, and Shawn McDowell of Hamilton, Illinois; two daughters, Lisa McDowell of Galesburg and Amy Wheeler of Oneida; grandchildren: Hayley, Victoria, Jayson, Emily, Logan, Allison, Megan, Cole, and Addison; her mother, Alice Peterson of Galesburg; one brother, Douglas (Darla) Peterson of Woodhull; one sister, Cathy (Randy) Kehr of Alexis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father; stepfather, William Peterson; one brother, Steve Peterson; and one nephew Justin Peterson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday December 29, 2012 at North Henderson United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Friday at Hoover Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis, where her family will be present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
