Kay F. Pierce Jackson, 78, of Monmouth died at 10:38 P.M. Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her home.
She was born Aug. 10, 1933 in Monmouth, the daughter of Edgar and Anne (Tapscott) Anderson. She was raised and educated in Monmouth.
Kay married Mervin Pierce in Monmouth in 1951 and he died May 11, 1974. She later married Martin Jackson on September 8, 1984 and he survives.
Kay was a C.N.A in the Monmouth area, a physical therapist aid and volunteered at Monmouth Hospital following her retirement. She loved to read, embroider and spend lots of time with her family. She was also very active member of her church.
She was a member of the Gerlaw Christian Church and the OSF Holy Family Medical Center auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; children, Jerry (Patricia) Pierce of Springdale, AR, Julie (Jim) Ross of Monmouth, Wayne (Carmen) Pierce of Monmouth, Billie Jean (Randy) Prior of Monmouth, Beverly (J.B.) Scott of Council Bluffs, IA, Teresa (L.B.) Shunick of Rio, Andy (Vicki) Jackson of Monmouth and Laura Beam of Washington, IL; brother, Neil (Mary Ann) Anderson of Mineral Wells, TX; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, 4 sisters, 5 brothers, and 4 infant grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 9, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Pastor Paul Lydic of the Gerlaw Christian Church officiating. Burial will be Oak Lawn Memorial Park, Galesburg. Friends may call Monday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present from 12:00 Noon until the time of the services.
