Karen A. Markham, 75, of Monmouth, IL passed away Wednesday November 9, 2016, 1:15 a.m. at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born Tuesday December 17, 1940 in Avon, IL the daughter of Melvin and Norma Rae (Curtis) Yingling. She married Charlie Lee Markham on May 1, 1967, he preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Jamie Jo Millam (Bub) of Matherville, Edward Ruark of N.C., Gail Ruark (Kelly Jo) of D.C., Jon File of Morrison, Corby Ruark (Charlene) of Kentucky, Charla (Tom) Whittington of Viola, Julie Tharp (Amy) of Monmouth; step children Larry markham (Kris) of Taylor Ridge, Sherry Ann Baber (Vic) of Moline, and Jeannette Kube Markham of Clinton, IA; siblings Richard Keithly, Eddy Danner, Michael Danner, and Inez Phelps; she had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Gary Markham, Susan (Sis) Markham, Charles Keithly.
Karen enjoyed her hobbies, bingo, and going to the casino. She liked to reading and crossword puzzles. She loved her kids. She was a Certified Nurses Aide in Rock Island and Aledo. She also drove school buses for Johana's Bus Services. She loved to write books and poems, and loved to listen to music especially Elvis. She lived life and loved every minute.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
