Karen M (Lozier) Kelly

Karen Marie Kelly, 82, of Morton, IL, formerly of Galesburg, IL, passed away at 10:22 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2022, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House in Peoria, IL. She was born March 26, 1940 in Roseville, IL, the daughter of Rex and Opal (Anderson) Lozier. She married Frank F. Kelly on June 19, 1959 at Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield, IL and he preceded her in death June 21, 2019.

Karen is survived by her children; Kathryn L. Kolls of Allen, TX, W. Kevin (Marquitta) Kelly of Cleveland, TN, Linda M. (Hector) Lopez of Morton, IL; grandchildren, Nikki and Jared of Allen, TX, Brint of East Brainerd, TN, Brianna of Harrison, TN, Brittney of Dothan, AL, and Andrea of Morton; five great-grandchildren; two adopted great-grandchildren; and sister, Darliss Page of Roseville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Karen graduated from Roseville High School in 1958.   She married Frank and moved to Great Falls, Montana where Frank was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base.  After Frank was discharged in 1961 they returned home to Illinois and made the town of Manlius their permanent home. She worked for Harper Wyman in Princeton Il for 29 years while raising her family.  She enjoyed helping Frank with gardening and taking care of the many flowers they planted.  Her family could count on seeing the many pictures of friends, family and the many places her and Frank traveled.  She was very interested in her family’s history and worked with extended family members on genealogy.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg before moving to Morton.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 p.m-4:00p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Roseville Community Center, Roseville, IL. Interment will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Roseville Community Center or the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House and left in the care of the funeral home. Wise Family Funeral Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
