Juanita M. Avery

Juanita M. Avery, 91, of Smithshire, IL passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020, 6:55 p.m. at the Henderson Co. Retirement Center, Stronghurst, IL.  She was born December 14, 1928 in Smithshire, IL, the daughter of H. K. and Carrie (Hawk) Thomas. She married Walter E. Avery, he preceded her in death on October 31, 2016.

She is survived by her children, Linda Sue (Glen) McCollum of Mt Pleasant, David E. (Alisa) Avery of Smithshire and John (Robbin) Avery of Cameron; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sister; Marilyn Estes of Stronghurst, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Carol Ann, 5 sisters, and two brothers.

She worked at Western Stoneware for 30 years. She also owned and operated Smithshire Café. She loved to bowl, and also enjoyed to fish. She loved to garden in her spare time. Her main love was her grandchildren.

A Private family Funeral Service will be held at Wise Family Funeral Home. Friends may call Friday August 14, 2020 from 1:00 p m.-6:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home in Roseville, the Family will not be present.  Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Il.
