John Jacob Rupp, Jr. (March 5, 1946-August 21, 2024) a former resident of Roseville, Illinois, in the 1950’s & 1960;s will be interred in the Roseville Township Cemetery, on Thursday, September 12, 2024 following a small ceremony at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 p.m.

John who was known as “Skip” to his family and friends, was the only son of John Jacob Rupp, Sr. and Audrey Meacham Rupp, who are also interred in the Meacham family plot.

Following the deaths of his parents, Skip, who was then 10 years old, moved to Roseville to live with Ruth Meacham McCullough, a cousin of his mother and her husband Harry. He graduated from Roseville High School in 1964.

Skip moved to Florida upon his graduation from high school and attended Stetson University where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Subsequently he attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his master’s degree in business administration. He had joined the ROTC programs at both universities and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the US Army at the completion of his formal education. In this he followed in the footsteps of his father who served in Europe during World War II.

Later Skip earned two additional master’s degrees which, in conjunction with his earlier education, were instrumental in a career that encompassed a variety of financial endeavors.

Skip is survived by many loving friends who will miss him dearly.
