John Patrick Keane, 85 of Raritan, IL passed away Monday December 15, 2014 5:19 pm at the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab Center Stronghurst, IL. He was born April 13, 1929 in Macomb, IL the son of John and Anna O'Leary Keane. He married Margaret M. Long in 1951 in St. Augustine, IL; she preceded him on May 14, 2009. He is survived by four sons John (Vicki) Keane of Media, IL, Ed (Joni) Keane of Raleigh, NC, David Keane of Roseville, IL and Tom (Sandra) Keane of Stronghurst, IL; four daughters Janet Helms of Peoria, IL, Judi (Fred) DiRosato of Akron, OH, Nancy (Jerry) Rosenberg of Peoria, IL and Diane (Jon) Gullberg of Media, IL; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two sisters Joan Keane of Monmouth, IL and Lillian Romano of Monmouth, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 1 sister (Fran Peasley). He was a life long farmer and cattle feeder. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He served on the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery Board. He was a past president of the Raritan Feed Farm Supply in Raritan, IL. He was a member of the Illinois Beef Association and of the American Legion. Funeral Mass will be Monday December 22, 2014, at 10:00 am at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Monsignor Thomas Mack will officiate. Rosary will be at 3:30 pm with Visitation following on Sunday December 21, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Hoover Hall Funeral Home Monmouth, IL. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and or Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab Center.
