Jane Ellen (Davis) Adkisson, 91, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born December 29, 1934, in Shadyside, Ohio, the daughter of Harold Samuel and Doris Adena (Davis) Davis. She was raised and educated in Ohio graduating from North High School in Columbus in 1952. She later attended the Lincoln Bible Institute in Lincoln, Illinois.
She married Jay Donald Adkisson on August 21, 1953, and they later divorced.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Judith Dawn (Robert) Wilson, Jeremy Dean, Jay Dixson (Diane Knights) Adkisson and Jeffrey Daniel (Jamell) Adkisson; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; great-niece, Melissa and great-nephew, Clint.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sam Davis; nephews, John Davis and Bruce Davis.
Jane worked for many years as a CNA and later in the office at the Lamoine Christian Nursing Home in Roseville until her retirement.
Jane’s faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted longtime member of the Roseville Christian Church. She loved music deeply, singing with several community choruses as well as in her church choir, and she especially enjoyed participating in the bell choir.
She was also a proud member of Chapter N P.E.O. in Roseville and was honored to receive her 50‑year membership pin. Jane found joy in many simple pleasures. An avid reader and enthusiastic gardener, she cherished the beauty of flowers and tended a large vegetable garden while raising her family, spending many seasons canning its harvest. She also delighted in collecting bunny figurines, a hobby that brought her quiet happiness over the years.
Jane treasured traveling and taking vacations with her children when they were young, and later with her beloved aunt Ruth. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She loved staying connected with each of them, following their lives closely, and sharing their stories with others.
