Glenn H. Loveland, 79, of London Mills, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, in his home. He was born July 4, 1946, in Christian County, Illinois, the son of William C. and Irene D. (Schubach) Loveland. He was raised and educated in Ellisville.
He married Esther Beckett in 1972 in Missouri and she survives.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Esther; one daughter, Glenda K. (Bob) Knowles of Fort Madison, Iowa; sons, Glenn H. (Julie) Loveland, Jr. of Nauvoo, Illinois, George (Tracey) Loveland of London Mills, Illinois, Christopher (Rebecca) Loveland of Knoxville, Illinois; grandchildren, Shelby, Jason, Scott, Jamie, Megan, Sara, Zeke, Alex; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wilma Watkins of London Mills, Illinois, Virginia (Walter) Grubb of Ellisville, Illinois, Linda (Jim) Schneider of Park Ridge, Illinois, brother-in-law Terry Williams of Canton, Illinois. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Shirley Williams, William Loveland, Roland Loveland, Sandy Semande; brothers-in-law, Herman Semande, Donald Watkins; sister-in-law, Judy Loveland and grandson, Michael Doubet.
Glenn worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad in track maintenance for 24 years until his retirement. He was an avid Hunter and Fisherman. He also loved to garden.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 20, 2026, at the Ellisville Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Ellisville Cemetery, Ellisville, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
