Evelyn Alberta Orwig 93, of Galesburg, formerly of North Henderson IL, died 9:45 P.M. Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center of Galesburg.

She was born November 11, 1920 in North Henderson IL, the daughter of Albert and Ella (Holmes ) Saylor. She was raised and educated in North Henderson IL.

She married Ernie Evard Orwig in Keokuk IA. December 9, 1939, and preceded her in death in January 1979.

She was a farm wife and mother. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, bowling and playing cards.

She was a member of the North Henderson Methodist Church and the War Mothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Janet (Fred) Brown of Mount Vernon IL, and Loretta "Lolly" Berg of Aledo two sons, Danny (Kathy) Orwig of Woodbridge, Virginia and Rusty (Beverly) Orwig of North Henderson IL, along with nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M Monday, November 25, 2013 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis IL with Pastor Paul Lydic of the Gerlaw Christian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson. Friends may call after 9:00 A.M. on Monday November 25, 2013 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel where her family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. to time of service. Memorials may be left to St. Jude Children's Hospital or OSF Hospice.
