Eugene Goldsmith

Eugene Goldsmith, 94, of Ellisville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 21, 1930 in Peoria, Illinois the son of Eugene and Millie Goldsmith. He was raised and educated in Peoria graduating from Peoria Manual High School. He later attended the Art Institute of Chicago.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married Carol Crofutt on August 8, 1964 in Bartonville, Illinois, and she survives.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol; children, Lenora Miller, Darrell Goldsmith, Verna Christoperson, Dennis Goldsmith, Denise Goldsmith, Judy Kessler, Michael Oldencamp, Kitty Borske; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Coons. Several  nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eugene Goldsmith; one daughter, Debbie Laca; and one sister, Betty Goldsmith.

Eugene worked as a business consultant for many years until his retirement. He was a wonderful artist and he loved to do Karaoke and sing any chance he got.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 in the Ellisville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
