Eric J. Grove

Eric J. Grove, 56, of Ellisville, IL passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, 11:55 a.m. at his home.  He was born Friday, August 2, 1963 in Avon, IL the son of Leonard Dean and Marjorie (Plumer) Grove.  He married Robin Davis on April 16, 2005.

Eric is survived by his wife Robin of Ellisville; Children, Randall (Jessica) Davis, Marshal Davis, and Kendal (Mattie) McDaniel; grandchildren, Zayden, Bryson and Scarlett; and one sister Lynnette (Larry) Cramer of Norwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister (Vanessa Goedeke).

Eric retired from local #649.  he was a member of the Sons of the Legion in Fairview.  He served on London Mills Fire and Rescue.  Eric was Mayor of Ellisville.  He was a lifelong farmer.  He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He also loved to garden.

Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no visitation.  There will be a Private Graveside service in the Ellisville Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the London Mills Fire Dept, Sons of the Legion at Fairview and /or Ellisville Fire Dept.

When the pandemic restrictions have been lifted the family will have a celebration of Eric’s life at a later date. To quote Eric “There will be a pig in the ground and beer on Ice”.
