Ellen K. (Frank) Westfall, 67, of Little Swan Lake passed away peacefully Thursday at OSF Hospital in Peoria surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Princeton on April 23, 1948 to Phyllis and Walter Frank. She married her high school sweetheart, Kent Westfall, at the Walnut United Methodist Church on December 16, 1967.
She was a 1966 graduate of Walnut High School and earned a degree from the Sterling School of Cosmetology in 1967. She had an in home beauty salon along with being a dedicated stay at home mom. Ellen and Kent purchased Swan Creek Golf Club in 1994. Ellen was the smiling face that greeted the golfers in the clubhouse.
Her greatest joy was her family and she was selflessly devoted to each one of them. She raised her children with unconditional love and nothing made her happier than being a Grammy. Ellen drew great strength from her faith and reading the Bible daily. While living in Roseville she attended Roseville United Methodist Church, later attending the Northwoods Community Church. She enjoyed family gatherings, providing food for everyone, reading, and music. Her taste in music ranged from Elvis Presley to old gospel favorites. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets for each grandchild.
Ellen is survived by her husband Kent, children Kemper (Wendi) Westfall, Kristen (Jamie) Barclay, Kate Lockett, and Khloe (Anthony) Beaird, grandchildren Colin Westfall, Evan Westfall, Kylie Barclay, Jaxon Barclay, Ellen "Ellie" Beaird, and Blakely Beaird, and her siblings Larry (Sue) Frank of Princeton, Judy (Ron) Eckberg of Erie and Rich (Janet) Frank of Carol Stream.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, and her son-in-law, Justin Lockett.
Memorial service will be Wednesday March 16, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at the Roseville United Methodist Church Roseville, IL. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday March 15, 2016 at the Roseville United Methodist Church Roseville, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded.
