Dorothy J. Griswold

Dorothy J. Griswold 88, of Roseville passed away on Tuesday September 22, 2015 at 4:05 a.m. at St Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born July 4, 1927 in Breese, IL the daughter of Russell G. and Grace I. (Phillips) Trummel. She married Clark Duane Griswold Sept. 9, 1946, in Rock Island IL. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2010.

She is survived by five children- Linda J (James) Hinchee of Bloomington IL, Saundra L. (William) Hutchins of Decatur IL, Michael C. (Amy) Griswold of Berwick IL, Marna L. (Roger) Holt of Enola, PA, and Melanie J. (Lawrence) Anderelli of Fountain Hills, AZ; grandchildren James R. (Beth) Hinchee, Shannon C. (Richard) Beck, Stephen R. (Amber) Hutchins, Laura J. Hutchins, Dianne M. (William) Edley, Clark E. (Angela) Griswold, Duane M. (Chestina) Holt, Connie L. Holt, Robert C. Holt, Maya C. Anderelli, Phillip C. (Erin) Anderelli, and Peter V. Anderelli; great-grandchildren Sean Hinchee, Niamh Hinchee, Caitlin Hinchee, Richard Beck III, Maxmillian Beck, Isaiah Ivory, Alexander Griswold, Lance Griswold, Jack Griswold, Avery Griswold, William Edley, Ethan Edley, Cedric Edley, Henry Edley, Brayden Hutchins, Shelby Hutchins, Chelsea Boyd, Ciara Holt, R.J. Holt, Nicholas Holt, Cosmo Offenbach, Penny Anderelli; one brother Donald Trummel (Marlene) of St. Cloud, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 granddaughter (Janet Hutchins).

Dorothy enjoyed golfing with her husband and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a graduate of Western Illinois University. She taught school in Avon, IL. She was a Home Economist and a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church. She also volunteered at the Roseville Nursing Home.

Graveside Service will be Saturday September 26, 2015, 11:00 am at the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. James Oliver will officiate. Family will receive friends on Friday eve September 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Wise Family ~ Hoover Hall Funeral Home Monmouth, IL.
