David D. Wright

David D. Wright, 67 of Abingdon passed away Monday September 13, 2021, at 8:08 pm in Abingdon, Il. He was born May 15, 1954, in Galesburg IL, the son of George Duane “Dewey” and Natalie (Smith) Wright. He met Jacqueline Shepherd in 1981 and they have been together since, they were married on September 5, 1992, in Abingdon, Il.

He is survived by his mother, his wife Jackie of Abingdon, sisters; Carol (Mike) Holliday, Joyce (Tony) Dawson, Brother; John (Janet) Wright, Children; Brett (Bridget) Homer, Paul (Denise) Homer Jr., 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, 2 grandchildren.

He was a truck Driver for 43 years working for; Thompson Grain, VSM, Sooner, and Hiel. He also worked for WWW transport, Knoxville transport, and Walmart where he retired from.

Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm at Abingdon Cemetery on Sunday September 19, 2021.  A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday September 19, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Abingdon American Legion.
