Daniel Dowell

Daniel Dowell, 63, of London Mills, IL passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, 12:53 p.m. at the OSF St. Mary Medical Center Galesburg, IL. He was born Wednesday October 22, 1952 in Monmouth, IL the son of Zenas and Norma (Norville) Dowell. He married Linda West on June 5, 1976.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda of nearly 40 years; two sons, Timothy (Heidi) Dowell of East Peoria, IL and David Dowell of London Mills, IL; one daughter, Lisa Dowell of London Mills, IL; 6 grandchildren, Haley, Paris, Trey, Payton, Dawson, and Chase; one sister, Becky Dowell of London Mills, IL; one brother Rusty Dowell and nephew Ryan and niece Jessica of London Mills, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and brother-in-law.

He graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in 1970. He attended the University of Illinois for Civil Engineering. He worked for IDOT, the pottery, John Deere Harvester, and later was a general contractor of his own business, Dowell Home Improvement, for 30 years. He loved spending time with his grandkids and flipping houses. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the London Mills United Methodist Church, London Mills, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday evening April 5, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the London Mills United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the East Midway Cemetery London Mills, IL.
