Charles Baxter

Charles “Chuck” Baxter, 83, of Roseville, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his residence. Chuck was born January 20, 1941, in Monmouth, the son of Orion B. Sr. and Florence Pearl (Bainter) Baxter. He was raised and educated in Avon graduating from Avon High School in 1959.

Survivors include one daughter; Char (Mari) Von Hemp of Lakeland, Florida; granddaughter, Maisie; two nephews, John and Jim Mummert and one niece Jule Mummert. Also surviving is his good friend Joe (Donna Frakes) Miller.

Chuck served in the United States Army from 1961-1963. He worked for Butler Manufacturing for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed baling hay and being outdoors. He also loved his farm cats.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Blanche Mummert; brother, Orion B. “Bing” Baxter, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Archer- Bethel Cemetery, Fandon, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to aid with funeral expenses. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
