Carol Marie Clark

Carol Marie Clark, 71, of Oquawka, IL passed away Friday June 22, 2018, 12:30 a.m. at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab Center Roseville, IL.  She was born Friday November 29, 1946 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Swedlund) Hale.  She was reared and educated in the Little York area, attending Bald Bluff School and graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1964.  She attended Iowa Westlean College and graduated from Monmouth College with a BS in Physical Education.

Carol married William E. Clark in Monmouth on December 27, 1972.

Carol first taught P.E. at Monmouth High School from 1970 to 1972.  She then taught at Tri-Valley Middle School at Gladstone for the next 2 years.  She was a Staff Writer for the Galesburg Register Mail, beginning in 1980 and retiring in 2006.  She enjoyed woodworking and boating.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 2301.

Surviving are her husband, William E. Clark of Oquawka, IL; stepdaughter, Stacy (John) Ester of Peoria, IL; stepson, Bret Clark of Florida, sister, Trudy (Phil) Bergren of Monmouth, IL, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Her parents preceded her in death.
