Bertha Marie Kilburn passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 9:15 a.m. at Heartland Health Care Center Macomb, IL. She was born Wednesday, February 16, 1927 the daughter of Elmer and Gladys M. (Porter) Clifford. She married Wayne E. Kilburn he preceded her in death on March 26, 2001.
She is survived by three daughters Roberta Blansett of Sciota, IL, Rebecca Blevins of Berwick, IL and Robin Sell of Illinois City, IL; five sons Elmer Kilburn of Berwick, IL, James Kilburn of Delaware, IL, Wayne “Tink” Kilburn of Avon, IL, George Kilburn of Abingdon, IL and Rex Kilburn of St. Augustine, IL; 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 grandson (Bill), and 3 sisters (Louise Whiterack, Frances Schisler, and Maxine Davis).
She was born in Cuba, IL and raised around St. Augustine, IL. She graduated from Avon High School. She moved to New Boston for 15 years then moved to the Berwick- Abingdon community areas. She worked at Blue Bell factory in Abingdon, IL. She was a cook and waitress for the Junction, and Youngs Truck Stop; she also worked at the Antenna factory in Avon, IL. She was a member of the St. Augustine Christian Church, the grandmothers club. She was also a member of the American Legion in Abingdon Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 16, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, November 15, 2018, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Babbitt Cemetery St. Augustine, IL. Memorials may be made to the St. Augustine Christian Church and or the Abingdon American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
