Barbara A (Bixby) Brashear

Barbara Ann “Bixby” Brashear, 84, of London Mills, passed away at 1:03 pm, December 9, 2023 at OSF in Peoria.  She was born in Middle Grove to Barbara “Chapman” and A.W. Bixby on June 16, 1939.  They preceded her death along with her 3 brothers; Charles (CP), Tommy and Ken Bixby.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph Brashear.  They were married on March 21, 1959.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Rhonda, her seven grandchildren; Jason Wilkins, Jennifer Migas, Acacia (Dustin) Knox, Brittany (Zech) McLaren, Zakary Bugos, Hannah Bugos, and Olivia Bugos, her seven great-grandchildren; Lilyann, Oscar, Rune, Cooper, Linus, Campbell, and Otto, her sister; Bobbie Thompson of Galesburg.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara attended and graduated from Farmington High School in 1957 and attended Brown’s Business College. She retired from Maytag in Galesburg after working for 30 years.  She thoroughly enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren. She loved crocheting and sewing baby blankets and Christmas stockings for each of them.

Private graveside services will be held at the East Midway Cemetery, London Mills, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
