Anna L. Icenogle, 82, of Monmouth died at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Monmouth Nursing Home.
She was born January 7, 1930 in Monmouth Illinois the daughter of Fred and Kathryn (McClanahan) Patterson. She was raised and educated in the Fall Creek Community and rural Gerlaw. She graduated from Alexis High School in 1948 and Burlington Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, IA in 1951.
Anna married Rev. Delbert W. Icenogle in Alexis, Illinois on September 2, 1961 and he died June 29, 2011.
She was a registered nurse and worked at Monmouth Hospital from 1951 to 1953 and again in 1955, San Francisco Children's Hospital in San Francisco, CA from 1953-1954, office of Dr. Wendell Roller in Monmouth from 1955-1961, Burlington Hospital in Burlington, IA from 1961-1992, Shelbyville Nursing Home in Shelbyville IL from 1971-1975 and Oak Glen Nursing Home in Coal Valley from 1976-1992, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of Heritage United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth, Heritage Women's Association, Circles and Quilting Group; Monmouth Evening Lions Club, New Century Club, Christian Women's Club and the Warren County Home Extension.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay (David) Stropes of Monmouth; granddaughter, Mary (Byron) Hasting of Monmouth; great grandson, D.J. Hasting of Monmouth; 3 sisters in law, Jeannine Patterson of Monmouth, Nan Icenogle of Louisiana and Dolly Icenogle of Gerlaw along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Lowell Patterson and nephew, Wayne Patterson.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Heritage United Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Irwin and Pastor Lester Zook of the Living Life Tabernacle of Roseville officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after noon on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present from 3:00-5:00 P.M.
